Today I was sitting back and thinking how far I have travelled since the day I have found my travelling Buddy..
I never had travelled alone anywhere.Frankly speaking, Yeah, I had 'Hadophobia'-(Fear of travelling) but though always had a dream of travelling with someone who could simply make me love to travel.
I was born and bought up in Chandigarh. Its a city known for its Beauty..!! Chandigarh was planned by the famous French Architect Le Corbusier on 01 November, 1966..
I got married in Kurukshetra- A city also known as Dharam-kshetra.
Kurukshetra is a region that was named after King Kuru- the ancestor of Kauravas and Pandavas as depicted in Mahabharata.
Recently, in Kurukshetra, Geeta Sansthaanam had been constructed and it would be an International Organisation(अंतराष्ट्रीय गीता संस्थानं ). Its a proud moment for all of us to have such a place in our country where on an international level, one can easily get to have all the information on Our Holy The Bhagavad Gita.
The Bhagavad Gita is a part of Mahabharata, which was written by the sage Vyasa. I remember the famous Shlokaa from Holy Gita, Chapter 4, Verse 7,-
''Yadaa yadaa hi dharmasya,Glaanirbhavati bhaarata| Abhyutaanamadarmasya tasaatmaanam srijaamyahamh|''
It means- Where there is decay of Dharma(righteousness) and rise of adharma(unrighteousness), then 'I'(The Lord) am born in this world.
After a duration of nearly five months, we left for Gujarat- A state famous for its economic success across India, famous for its food- dhokla, faafda, khaakhra, etc., world famous for its dance- Garba and Daandiya raas.
We Departed from NDLS(New Delhi Railway Station) at 7:55pm from Rajdhani Express and arrived Ahmedabad(Gujarat) at 10:15am.(.Ahmedabad is city in Gujarat famous for its woven fabrics widely. The markets there have an enormously wide range of fabrics that are painted using Tie and Dye.Its a city also known as The Heartbeat of western India.)
It was such a hike from Delhi to Gujarat... While on the way to place where we had to lame in Ahmedabad, I was overwhelmed by the hospitality of the local people there. Its really fun when people around you enjoys your company.!!!
We reached the society named Radhe Krishan Society where we stayed for almost 2 months..
Ahmedabad has a lot of places to roam around.
1.Sabarmati Ashram-Its known as the second home of Mahatma Gandhi. This place has an historical importance too as it is considered that Mahatma Gandhi, from here, orchestrated the final struggle of independence. Gandhi's personal items are still being placed there and taken care by the trust(s).
2. Manek Chowk- This place is located in the old city and is surrounded by many historical buildings. The right time to visit the Manek Chowk is at night where the place really turns into Food paradise. You really get to have a large variety of delicious street foods.
3. Hanuman Mandir - This temple of Lord Hanuman is located in the Cantonment area in Ahmedabad. Its one of the biggest Hanuman temples of India. The bhavya Aarti can be seen on Tuesday and Saturday evenings.
4.Sabarmati Riverfront -I loved the Sabarmati Riverfront. Its a beautiful place with a lot of peace and calmness around..
several annual events are hosted at the riverfront such as Sabarmati Marathon, International Kite Festival, Sabarmati Cyclothon, etc.
I had got an opportunity to visit Valsad too. My husband had a friend of him there laming in the central Valsad.
Valsad is a district of Gujarat famous for its greenry and post-monsoon views, well known for its production of mangoes, teak and for its chemical and industrial sectors based on Vapi and Atul.
we had visited Daman too.
Daman is famous for its beach , churches and scenic beauty all around.
we had went to Jampore beach in Daman at evening time. It was the first time I had seen the intermixing of sun and sea at some point. It was a fascinating place..!!!
An early morning walk on the sea shore and a cup of tea after that makes your day well with your travel buddy makes your day go very well..!!
Now,we have shifted to Delhi - The capital of India. Its a political state followed by a number of museums and galleries here.. It has a wide range of markets.
1.Old Delhi(Puraani Delhi)- Its is a place famous for food items. A wide range of cloth is also being manufactured here..
2.India Gate - India Gate is a war memorial located on the Rajpath. It has a Amar Jawan Jyoti too.
On the top INDIA is written in bold letters.. Below the word INDIA its written(in bolds):
TO THE DEAD OF THE INDIAN ARMIES WHO FELL AND ARE HONOURED IN FRANCE AND FLANDERS MESOPOTAMIA AND PERSIA EAST AFRICA GALLIPOLI AND ELSEWHERE IN THE NEAR AND THE FAR EAST AND IN SACRED MEMORY ALSO OF THOSE WHOSE NAMES ARE HERE RECORDED AND WHO FELL IN INDIA OR THE NORTH-WEST FRONTIER AND DURING THE THIRD AFGHAN WAR.
Its a place to be visited and feel the moments of the brave indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our nation..
3. Dilli Haat - A famous place in delhi known for its wooden handicrafts and hadcrafted items for your home. A wide range of wodden handicrafts could be seen here..
Its not the end of all journey(s).. It was, it is always fun roaming around with Him- my travel buddy, my husband...!!!!
